PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The M. Min. program is the normal degree at SSU to prepare people for pastoral and Christian leadership in churches and other settings.  The priority of this degree is on the integration of the spiritual formation of the student with a deepening knowledge and understanding of the theological disciplines and skills for ministry.  To that end the M. Min. degree focuses on personal spiritual formation by way of mentoring and provides a core curriculum to acquaint students with the various disciplines involved in the practice of ministry.  In this way students are prepared for a range of ministry opportunities.

In addition to the core curriculum, the student may elect one of five areas of specialization or majors: Counselling, Biblical and Theological Studies, Spiritual Formation, Pastoral Leadership, and Worship Leadership and the Arts.  The majors offer students the opportunity for greater specialization and reflection on specific areas of ministry.  The M. Min. degrees in Counselling, Biblical and Theological Studies, Pastoral Leadership, Spiritual Formation, and Worship Leadership and the Arts require a total of 63 credit hours.

The program also includes a two week travel study component either in Israel or Greece & Turkey. >>>
