I joined the SSU leadership team at SSU in 2020, and transitioned to the presidential role a few months later. A BA from St Francis Xavier University (home of the cooperative movement) developed my love for community and justice, and ignited my passion for education. After earning an MA and PhD in English literature at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON, I returned home to the shores of the Bay of Fundy, where I live with my husband David Levangie, (and where we cherish lengthy visits from our two young adult children.)
After many years of experience teaching at the university level at SSU and UNB Saint John, and with a strong background in faculty and program development, I’m embracing the opportunity to teach, write, and lead a small academic community where students, faculty, staff, and neighbours form relationships and have real conversations about the questions, ideas, and values that shape our lives together.
