St. Stephen's University is a graduate school of theology, peace and reconciliation that offers academic programs through our charter by the Province of New Brunswick to grant baccalaureate and master's degrees and graduate certificates.

Have confidence and a sense of gratification in your degree from SSU.

A robust and rigorous program curriculum in all of our programs, reputable and doctorally-trained faculty who know all of our students by name, and a provincial charter to grant graduate degrees and certificates all make St. Stephen's University a top choice in Canada for a graduate education in theology & culture, peace & justice, and reconciliation studies.

St. Stephen's University students can be confident that their degree will be recognized widely if they choose to transfer their courses or go on to complete doctoral studies at another institution after graduation. Our students have previously completed baccalaureate degrees from such prominent institutions of higher learning as Oxford University, University of Glasgow, and University of Waterloo before attending SSU, and our alumni have gone on to study at a number of reputable and prestigious schools from McGill University to the University of Nottingham among many others. Further, SSU partners with other reputable academic institutions to deliver important components of our programs, including the University of Edinburgh and Queen's University Belfast.

While we eschew elitism and aim to create an inclusive educational experience by welcoming students from any background — especially amplifying voices of outcasts from the margins — a degree from St. Stephen's University is nevertheless valued by other globally recognized universities, and our curriculum is rigorous and robust. Graduates of St. Stephen's University can therefore have full confidence in the value and recognition of their degrees.
