PREAMBLE

The following is the registration form for the Reconciliation Studies Learning Tour (May 22 – June 1, 2025) and is meant to help SSU collect the information we need for planning purposes. Students will need to register and pay a deposit of $7,50 CAD before March 5, 2025 to secure their spot on this learning tour (Note: your spot on this study abroad trip is not officially secured for you until this deposit is paid, so the sooner, the better). Students will then be invoiced for the remaining cost of the trip ($400 CAD), which needs to be paid in full before April 1, 2025, and for tuition ($2,370 CAD), which needs to be paid before May 1, 2025 (payment plans are available for tuition, but this must be paid in full before the start of the learning tour). The amount on the invoice is all-inclusive for accommodations, meals, internal travel in and around Winnipeg / Treaty 1 Territory, sessions, and other related experiences, all of which is prearranged for you.

Students therefore need to make their own flight arrangements, as this is not included in the cost of the learning tour. The program of the learning tour begins the morning of May 23, so we would like our students to arrive the day before, on May 22, to come prepared to engage and interact the next day; please arrange your flight into Winnipeg accordingly. Your final night of accommodations is May 31, and departure is June 1. All travel arrangements to and from our accommodations and the Winnipeg International Airport are the students' responsibility.

Travel information:

Spots and accommodations on this learning tour are limited, and arrangements for this tour therefore assume that our students are travelling by themselves. However, we also recognize that this is a meaningful experience that you may want to share with someone else. We are therefore prepared to allow travel companions, but we prefer that these are kept to a minimum for the purposes of our own travel arrangements and group cohesion, which means that travel companions require SSU's approval. To ensure that the experience of our students is prioritized, no fewer than half of the spots on this learning tour will be reserved for SSU students.

Nevertheless, below are questions related to how you will be travelling with us. Please note that while we will try our best to fully accommodate your travel companions and this is likely, we still cannot guarantee this, and you may need to make alternative arrangements for them. Having said that, it is crucial that you stay with your fellow students throughout the trip regardless.

Please note that if your travel companion would like to experience the entire trip, including all accommodations, meals, internal travel, academic sessions, events and experiences, the cost for auditing and personal enrichment (i.e., non-credit) is $1,500 CAD.

2. Will you be coming on this learning tour by yourself or with others?
4. Will you need accommodations, meals, and travel arrangements within Winnipeg / Treaty 1 Territory for more than just yourself on this trip? (Note: applicable costs will be added to your invoice; if you answered < yes > to this question, someone will reach out to you for more details.)
5. If you will have travel companions with you, do they also want to participate in all of the activities of the learning tour, either for personal enrichment or for credit? (Note: applicable costs will be added to your invoice; if you answered < yes > to this question, someone will reach out to you for more details.)
